Further on vim / gvim

Have installed latest version : 7.0.94

But old problem remains : gvim is not able to render UTF-8 characters. Think there is no font availble able to render these characters. So no means to see accented letters (eg : French : à été ) in gvim.

Any idea how to solve the problem?

Thank you.

Hi,

I wanted to have a FreeBSD LiveCD. After searching on the net, I got Frenzy 1.0. I immediately downloaded the iso and burned it to a CD.

I read about how Frenzy was made and why it's development is temporarily halted now.

I have lots of patience until it's next version releases. I wish Good Luck for all who develop Frenzy. Keep up the Good Work!

I just wanna know under which license is Frenzy 1.0 and more importantly Frenzy is distributed?

Cheers.

Frenzy user from India.

Hello,

The system is great. I just wish netcat was in the mini distro.
Also, I wanted to boot the iso from pxe.
So I made a Harddisk image, labeled it and created a bootable partition. Then copied everything and copied the harddisk image to the root of the tftpserver. The harddisk boots with logo screen, but fails to find the correct disk just after the usb detection.

My guess is that the /etc/fstab file needs hacking.... or ?

Anyway... keep up the good work !

Frenzy is distributed under BSD license.
With PXE booting, sorry, can't help since I've not tested this.

Hi

I am a bit new to unix, but I am wondering how do I access the boot options?

I press enter to boot frenzy but it just puts me straight into the shell, I do not get the boot menu screen.

Try to disable firewire ports in BIOS. (this is happening because Frenzy 1.0 kernel was incorrectly configured to use firewire devices as alternate console output)

The problem was fixed in Frenzy 1.1 RC1, which is now available for tests.

Am still using Frenzy 1.0 english extended. And like very much the 'extensions'. Is tere a way to up(date/grade) from Frenzy 1.0 to Frenzy 1.1 without losing the extensions?

Another question : does Frenzy 1.0 support utf8? How to show utf8 in an xterm?

Thank you for kind attention.

"xterm -en utf-8" will do, or after starting xterm, ctrl + mouse
right click and select UTF-8.
