What do you think about Frenzy core components? How well startup scripts work?

Sergey, Frenzy is a great idea!!! I have a problem:
cfdisk doesn't support a "write" option for user: root /without password, ;) Is there login/password for su ? Excuse for lamer's question.

you can give you passwd by executing passwd and enter

I am trying to install frenzy to a HD.

I ran into some porblems with the install script.

First, as above, cfdisk runs without write priviliges, therefore I can not set up within Frenzy.

Second, after the install I can not boot from the HD.
I am using GRUB and get a kernel panic (can not find kernel).
I tried booting from both a GRUB floppy and the Frenzy live CD.

Third, how do I mount a partition rw, all my mounts seem to be read-only.

Fourth, is there anything I need to do unique to Frenzy to install the Free BSD Ports (I did not see the ports on the live CD).

Otherwise I would love to run Frenzy from HD

Do you running Frenzy 1.0 release or some of previous release candidates (RC1, RC2)?
1) Frenzy must automatically unmount all partitions before installation, then cfdisk can write partition table to HDD. If this doesn't happen, then maybe some partitions were locked by some process.
2) Info about configuring GRUB to run FreeBSD: http://geodsoft.com/howto/dualboot/grub.htm
3) When Frenzy boots, there is a boot menu where you can select HDD interaction mode - mount partitions rw ('hdrw' cheatcode), only create mountpoints ('nohdmnt' cheatcode) or do not touch HDD at all ('nohdd' cheatcode). See http://frenzy.org.ua/en/releases/1.0/doc/doc_en-boot.html for details.
After Frenzy boot you can remount partitions using 'remount' utitity,
see http://frenzy.org.ua/en/releases/1.0/doc/doc_en-fs.html
4) You can download FreeBSD ports archive from any FreeBSD mirror or from Frenzy SDK package (ftp://ftp.frenzy.org.ua/pub/Frenzy/1.0/sdk/cd1/ports.tgz)

Frenzy is installed on '/dev/ad1s1a' ('/dev/hdb1' in Linux)
In Grub I have :
title FreeBSD Frenzy 1.0
root (hd1,0,a)
kernel /boot/loader

Was booting without any difficulty.
Your problem probably is the partition names in Grub.

I have tried several times, but it doesn't work!

Maybe I understand your problem....

I was not able to make a FreeBSD partition form within Frenzy neither.

That's why I made that partition from within Linux (RIP). Then I could install Frenzy from the LiveCD without any problem.

Hope this helps.

Think you should be able to install Frenzy from the Frenzy LiveCD if there is a empty FreeBSD partition on your harddisk.

My problem was that I was not able to create a FreeBSD partition from the LiveCD. I had to use Linux (RIP) to do that.
