Hwinfo gives an error because of incorect handling of your CD-ROM name :( Please send me result of this command:
cat /var/run/dmesg.boot | grep CD

I'll think about your problem with video card and write a reply after some experiments.

Good morning techniX,

Here is what cat /var/run/dmesg.boot | grep CD gave me:

-------
cd0: Removable CD-ROM SCSI-0 device
(cd0:umass-sim1:1:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 1 0
(cd0:umass-sim1:1:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0
(cd0:umass-sim1:1:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0
(cd0:umass-sim1:1:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0
-------

You might want to compare that with what dmesg | grep CD gave me with Knoppix-STD:

-------
hdc: COMPAQ DVD-ROM DRD-8120B, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Attached scsi CD-ROM sr0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.12
Vendor: CDWRITER Model: IDE5232 Rev: 0009
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Attached scsi CD-ROM sr1 at scsi3, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
-------

the scsi CD-ROM is a USB external CD-RW. Do you think that Frenzy is getting confused between these two? After all - he seems to only see the "Removable CD-ROM SCSI-0 device"...

Kind regards & thanks for your efforts,

VS

GOTCHA!
This line causes an error:
(cd0:umass-sim1:1:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 1 0
because variable $cd_name[0] get value "(cd0" and in this line:
$cd_x1 =~ s/$cd_name[0]://g;
unwanted "(" gives such error in regexp.
I've not tested 'hwinfo' on systems with SCSI CD-ROMs.

So if you want to get hwinfo work on your system, remove lines
(cd0:umass-sim1:1:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 1 0
from file /var/run/dmesg.boot, then start hwinfo again.

Thank you for bug report, you helped me a lot.

Great!

Thanks a lot. I will try that as soon as I have a second to do so. Also - I am *delighted* that the bug report helped. I really think Frenzy is a unique and highly needed product so helping in any way is really a pleasure. Lemme know if you want me to test anything else.

I will be waiting to hear from you about the video issue.

Kind regards,

Sergei, Khristos Rozhdaetsia!

How are you? Are you still looking into the issue of my video problems?

Cheers,

It seems that the only solution is to wait until new Frenzy will be released with latest X.Org distribution...

You do not need to copy entire ISO-image to CD.
You must copy file "frenzy.uzip" from CD ant put in into directory "frenzy" on any partition.
