Network setup

Utility “netconf” is amed to set up your network .

Having run “netconf” without parameters, a menu to chose the module appears (lan, ppp, vpn, adsl).

netconf lan

Module of local area network settings After you’ve made choice a network interface card you’ll need to enter ip address for it, subnet mask, gateway, DNS-servers and domain name.

If some of them were specified earlier they will be substituted in dialogue box automatically.

If you use DHCP then you should enter “DHCP” instead of IP address or enter nothing.

Settings will be saved and applied automatically.

netconf ppp

Dialup connection settings module. Creating a new connection you should specify connection name, modem port, authoriation type (login or pap/chap), login and password and phone numbers (you can enter sever numbers one by one , empty line stands for the end of input).

After connections saving a new field “Connection with <connection name>” will be appeared , having chosen which a call will be executed.

netconf vpn

VPN connection settings module.

Creating a new connection you should connection name, VPN server address, login and password and some other options (covpression, encryption, use it as the default gateway).

After connections saving a new field “Connection with <connection name>” will be appeared , having chosen which an attempt to set up VPN connection will be performed.

:!:Before setting a VPN connection you have to set up your LAN.

ADSL connection settings module.

Creating a new connection you should connection name, network interface which ADSL-modem is attached to , login and password and some other options (use it as the default gateway, use NAT and DNS).

After connections saving a new field “Connection with <connection name>” will be appeared , having chosen which an attempt to set up ADSL connection will be performed.
